Martin Sauer
Martin Sauer, born in Berlin, in 1958, is an internationally renowned and multi-award-winning producer of classical music.
Having completed his training as a Tonmeister (sound engineer and producer) at Berlin’s HdK (Hochschule der Künste, now UdK) in 1992, M Sauer first worked at Van Geest recording studio in Heidelberg and in 1992 joined Radio France as “musicien metteur en ondes” (producer).
In 1995, he was appointed producer, and later A&R Director, at Erato Disques, a Paris based record company.
Numerous awards and prizes
Martin Sauer has so far produced over 700 Cds and DVDs. His work has garnered many prizes, including 6 Grammy awards.
Teldex Studio Berlin
In 1998, Martin Sauer was named Chairman of the Hamburg based record company Teldec Classics International, both companies being part of Warner Music. In 2001 he cofounded Teldex Studio Berlin while working as a producer for Harmonia Mundi France, an independent French record label based in Arles.
When Teldex Studio was taken over by a new team in 2025, Martin Sauer, now an independent producer, created musi.prod, a new production company for classical music based in Nantes (France).
About musi.prod
In association with Teldex, musi.prod will combine technical excellence and artistic expertise.
Martin Sauer’s goal is two-fold: to carry out large scale-projects in collaboration with a sound Engineer from Teldex Studio, using its technical equipment – other collaborations being of course possible – and to focus on smaller productions which he will take sole charge of (chamber music or soloists).
In all cases, while Martin Sauer will be responsible for the recording and editing, Teldex will deal with the mixing/mastering process so as together ensure and maintain the same high-quality production standards.
